Day 10 – Marsabit

I slept wonderfully last night, probably the best of the trip so far and although I had a glancing thought that I had been taken captive when at first I had opened my eyes, the memories of the previous evening swiftly flooded into my mind and all was well, if not a little dark…

Day 9 – Bubisa

Bubisa: means heavy wind in Gabra, the local language.

I woke up alive yayyyyy and I actually slept like a baby.  It rained during the night but was dry by the time I got out of the tent, so I packed up my gear and headed back out to the main road and onward to my proposed destination Marsabit.

Day 8 – Into Kenya

Welcome to Kenya Police Campsite Corrugated Courtyard James Taylor

I started out from Moyale at around 7:30am and was eager to get through immigration and into Kenya as early as possible.  I knew that I had about 250km before I hit real civilisation again so I wanted to get away as quickly as possible in order to take a decent chunk out of the distance ahead of me, but that unfortunately was not to be.

History of a Cyclist

I’ll talk in the third person for this…
James has been travelling intermittently since he left school. His first around the world trip was with his first proper girlfriend and they did one of the 10 stop  around the world tickets. After that he went to South America for a few years travelling extensively through Chile, Columbia and Peru. He has been to nearly every country on Earth. His last solo unaided cycle trip took him 24,000 miles around the world in over 400 days. Somehow he managed to miss Africa. This time he will travel from Cairo to Cape Town travelling down the east side of Africa.
